Permitting and tender design for a high-capacity industrial cement production complex
The Holcim cement plant development in Nyergesújfalu is a major industrial investment in Hungary, aimed at modernizing and expanding cement production capacities in the long term. The project is part of a complex, large-scale industrial system that integrates a complete technological chain from raw material processing to final product dispatch.
The core of the development is a dry-process cement plant with a daily capacity of 4,000 tons, built on modern production and energy-efficient technologies. This is complemented by a long-distance conveyor system and an industrial railway terminal, ensuring efficient logistics for both raw materials and finished products. The entire development covers an area of approximately 108,600 m², including production, logistics, and supporting infrastructure.

Bim.GROUP was responsible for the building permitting and tender design tasks for the entire industrial complex.
During the design process, key responsibilities included:
- coordinated permitting documentation of the cement plant’s technological and architectural systems
- technical integration of associated infrastructure, including the conveyor system and industrial railway terminal
- coordination of logistical and structural interfaces between industrial units
- preparation of detailed technical content required for the tender phase
The complexity of the project lies in the fact that large-scale cement production technology, continuous material flow, and rail-based logistics were designed as a single, unified industrial system. Therefore, system-level thinking and close integration of different engineering disciplines were essential throughout the design process.
The Holcim Nyergesújfalu development is not only an expansion of industrial capacity but also the creation of a modern, energy-efficient cement production system that will play a defining role in the long-term stability and competitiveness of Hungary’s construction materials supply.
