Fabrication design of steel structures in a large-scale industrial manufacturing facility development
The LEGO factory in Nyíregyháza LEGO Manufacturing Kft. is one of Europe’s most significant toy manufacturing bases, continuously expanding and evolving through technological developments to meet global production demands. The East Block development at the site aimed to increase production capacity and improve logistics efficiency under strict industrial and quality requirements.
A defining characteristic of the project was its extremely high level of standardization and an architectural-structural system closely aligned with precise industrial processes. The steel elements connected to the reinforced concrete hall and building structures had to integrate accurately with both existing and new technological systems, while ensuring fast constructability and long-term operational reliability.

In this project, bim.GROUP was responsible for the fabrication design of steel structures connected to the reinforced concrete building structures. The scope included the detailed technical design of steel components, optimization from a manufacturability perspective, and the preparation of documentation supporting construction and installation processes.
During the design process, particular emphasis was placed on adaptation to a large-scale industrial production environment, constructability, and ensuring that the steel structures were precisely integrated into the reinforced concrete load-bearing system and the layout of technological equipment.
The expansions of the LEGO Nyíregyháza site are internationally significant industrial developments, reflecting a shift toward sustainable and automated manufacturing processes while demanding a high level of architectural and engineering precision.
