Rheinmetall Várpalota Ammunition Factory
General design, detailed design, and structural engineering contribution

The Rheinmetall Várpalota Ammunition Factory is a military-industrial development implemented under the investment of the Hungarian Ministry of Defence. Its purpose is to support the supply and logistics infrastructure of NATO forces stationed in Hungary, while also strengthening domestic defence industry capacities. The new building complex in Várpalota was designed under highly complex technical and security requirements.
The project involved full design coordination of a 12-building complex, with a high level of engineering discipline integration and a BIM-based design process.

Client / investor: Hungarian Ministry of Defence
Total floor area: ~11,500 m²
Within the project, we participated in the preparation of the full permitting and detailed design package for a base consisting of 12 new buildings, in roles as lead designer and structural engineer. The scope included coordination of all engineering disciplines, alignment of design concepts, and management of the preparation of construction-level technical documentation.
During the design process, particular emphasis was placed on coordinating complex military-industrial functions, meeting stringent security requirements, and applying technical solutions that ensure long-term operational reliability.
bim.GROUP participated in the project as lead designer and structural engineering partner for the new Várpalota base.
Its responsibilities included:
general design coordination of the full permitting and detailed design package for 12 buildings
structural engineering design services
BIM-based coordination and technical integration of all engineering disciplines
A key focus of the design work was ensuring structural safety, functional reliability, and compliance with NATO technical requirements.
