Research, knowledge sharing and professional collaboration play a vital role in building a more modern, competitive and sustainable construction industry. The CONTECH 2026 conference provided a platform to explore these priorities, highlighting the solutions shaping the sector’s future and the professionals behind them.

At the event, Dr Krisztián Király of bim.GROUP received the CONTECH 2026 Young Excellence in Construction Award, recognising his professional achievements across research, education and structural design.

Krisztián’s doctoral research was carried out through a collaboration between bim.GROUP, KÉSZ Group and the Department of Structural Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). It focused on developing demountable steel–concrete composite structures, contributing to more sustainable construction and the reuse of structural components. This approach considers future disassembly and opportunities for component reuse from the design stage.

The recognition also highlights the value of connecting academic research with practical engineering expertise. Collaboration between industry and universities enables scientific findings and design experience to inform one another, supporting progress across the construction sector.
