We recently announced that the bim.GROUP team had received the Construction Industry Award of Excellence in the Public Building/Education category for its design work on Jedlik Ányos Secondary School. We are now delighted to report that the plaque commemorating this achievement has officially been unveiled on the building during a formal ceremony.

This latest recognition further expands the project’s impressive collection of awards, which already includes a Tekla Structures Award and a BIG SEE Award.

The Jedlik Ányos Secondary School was an exceptional facility and project in every respect. Located in Budapest’s Csepel district, the development involved the expansion of the former school by 6,500 square metres and the complete reconstruction of the existing building.

Following the concept design, bim.GROUP Kft. was responsible for all subsequent phases, including the preparation of the permitting documentation, detailed design and fabrication design. Our multidisciplinary team covered five principal areas: architecture, reinforced concrete and steel structures, building envelope design, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.

The project’s greatest structural challenge was designing the roof structure spanning the atrium, which required extensive expertise, practical experience and appropriate specialist software.
