Once again, the Consteel Steel Lion competition attracted outstanding entries this year. bim.GROUP entered the Alba Arena project and received one of the competition’s most prestigious recognitions: the Pangolin Special Award. Lewandowski Dávid submitted the project’s parametrically generated structural model, developed during the fabrication design phase, and received the trophy at an official awards ceremony.

The parametric design team also included Szabó Ákos, who was responsible for the geometry; Horváth Gergő, who carried out the parametric modelling in Tekla; and Jancsa András, who was responsible for the parametric design of the building envelope.

“The Alba Arena project clearly demonstrated the vast potential offered by Consteel software and Pangolin. It is a pioneering technology that enables the parametric design of large-scale structures with complex geometries through the Grasshopper environment. The Pangolin Award is an exceptional recognition for both me and bim.GROUP, as it provides further positive feedback on the quality of our work. Moreover, it gave us the opportunity to showcase our expertise on the international stage,” said Lewandowski Dávid, structural steel engineer, commenting on the award.
