The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics once again organized the Scientific Students' Associations Conference, where the best BSc and MSc students presented their scientific results in seven parallel sections. The long-established, tradition-rich conference was once again a great success, and bim.GROUP Kft. awarded a special prize to one student.

In Structural Engineering Section 1, Kocsis András Balázs, Lead Business Development Designer at bim.GROUP Kft., participated as a committee member. In the section, we heard interesting and forward-looking presentations on special composite structures, reinforced concrete and aluminium structures, and bridge structures.

The bim.GROUP Special Award was won by Rozgonyi Dániel, an MSc student who placed second at the conference, for his thesis entitled "Numerical investigation of shear connections in composite truss girders". The theoretical background of composite truss girders is a relatively rarely researched field; as a result, there are few recommendations and limited experience available to designers. The novelty of the thesis and its corporate relevance were the reasons why Dániel ultimately received the award.
