Another Proud Achievement – Our Jedlik Ányos Secondary School Project Wins a Construction Industry Award of Excellence

The Jedlik Ányos Secondary School project continues to collect prestigious accolades. Having already received a Tekla Structures Award and a BIG SEE Award, the project added another recognition to its collection in 2024 by winning the Construction Industry Award of Excellence in the Public Building/Education category. A commemorative plaque marking the achievement will also be installed at the complex.

The Jedlik Ányos Secondary School was an exceptional facility and project in every respect. Located in Budapest’s Csepel district, the development involved the expansion of the former school by 6,500 square metres and the complete reconstruction of the existing building.

Following the concept design, bim.GROUP Kft. was responsible for all subsequent phases, including the preparation of the permitting documentation, detailed design and fabrication design. Our multidisciplinary team covered five principal areas: architecture, reinforced concrete and steel structures, building envelope design, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.

The greatest structural engineering challenge was designing the roof structure spanning the atrium, which required extensive expertise, practical experience and the appropriate specialist software.
