bim.GROUP Contributes to Another Major Industrial Development – Foundation Stone Laid in Szolnok
We are pleased to share that bim.GROUP is playing an active role in a major paper industry development whose foundation stone was laid in Szolnok in early November in the presence of Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The HUF 42 billion investment will create new jobs and contribute to strengthening Hungary’s industrial competitiveness.
bim.GROUP has a key role in the development: our team is responsible for the comprehensive design of the paper raw material production hall. Once operational, the new facility will be capable of producing approximately 40,000 tonnes of multilayer tissue paper reels annually, representing significant production capacity for both the Hungarian and international paper industries.
The facility will have a net floor area of almost 8,000 square metres and will be constructed using a precast reinforced concrete structure, providing durability, cost-effective construction and a modern industrial appearance. bim.GROUP is also responsible for preparing the permitting and detailed construction documentation, which will be completed by the end of the year to ensure that the development can progress according to schedule.
The production technology will be designed and supplied by the internationally recognised Italian company Toscotec, one of the paper manufacturing systems industry’s leading providers. The collaboration between bim.GROUP and Toscotec combines advanced engineering expertise with innovative technological solutions, enabling the investment to contribute to the development of not only the Hungarian paper industry but also the wider region.

Why is this development particularly important?
- The project will create 55 new jobs in Szolnok.
- Industrial production in the region—particularly in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County—has grown rapidly over the past decade, and this investment will further reinforce that trend.
- In addition to creating local employment opportunities, the new facility will reduce dependence on imports, increase export potential and support the global competitiveness of Hungarian industry.
- The investment also supports the transition towards greener industrial production, as the new manufacturing capacity will be introduced without increasing harmful emissions.
